Scientific profile

Graduate of doctoral studies at the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw. Academic teacher for many years. Scholarship holder of e.g. the British Council Young Scientists Programme (2006/2007), 5th EU Framework Programme Centre of Excellence CEMERA – European Centre for Comprehensive Environmental Monitoring and Risk Assessment (2005/2006), Modern University – a comprehensive support programme for doctoral students and teaching staff of the University of Warsaw” (2012).

Laureate of the MOBILITY PLUS (I) competition of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (647/MOB/2011/0, 2011/2012). Managed projects carried out in foreign cooperation (HARMONY 1 No. 2011/01/M/NZ6/01793, 2011-2013; OPUS 12 No. 2016/23/B/NZ6/03464, 2017-2021) and national cooperation (MNiSW Project No. N303 819140, 2007-2011; OPUS 9 No. 2013/09/B/NZ6/00653, 2014-2017) funded by the National Science Centre and the University Technology Transfer Centre (PROJECT INNOVATION INCUBATOR+ No. 9/UOTT/2017, 2017/2018). Laureate of the TEAM TECH programme of the Foundation for Polish Science (No. TEAM TECH/2017-4/22, 2018-2022). She is currently leading the OPUS 24 project No. 2022/47/B/NZ7/02729 ‘Potential of T-lymphocyte profiling in personalized treatment planning for multiple sclerosis’.

Author of original and review scientific papers on, inter alia, immunoregulatory mechanisms induced by intestinal nematodes, the use of experimental models to study these mechanisms, genetic determinants of resistance to nematode infection and the use of parasite-derived factors in the treatment of autoimmune diseases. Member of Expert and Review Panels of research funding agencies.

Multiple laureate of the University of Warsaw Rector’s Award for outstanding scientific achievements (2005-2012) and the Rector of Lazarski University (2023, 2024). Winner of the Polish Intelligent Development Award 2019 under the patronage of the President of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland Dr. Alicja Adamczak in the category Scientist of the Future. Member of AcademiaNet (Expert Database for Outstanding Female Academics) coordinated by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) since 2023, nominated by FNP.
